Penelope Blake is a young lady desperately hoping to go on an adventure. Luckily for her she finds a real life adventurer on a roof and hides him in her family’s stable. Unluckily, he then accidentally opens a portal to another world and gets kidnapped by monsters.

With the help of Miriam Mim the hedge witch, Penny travels to the goblin valley on a rescue mission, accompanied by the ghost of her dead grandfather Nathaniel Blackfeather and a very clever parrot called Princess.
